Product information "BC Garn Soft Silk - 001 Pure white"
BC Garn Soft Silk yarn - 100% bourette silk with a noticeable texture. Knitters often choose it for summer tops.
Which seasons is silk yarn suitable for?
Silk keeps you warm in winter and cool on a hot day, so it can be worn across different seasons. Some people use the knitted fabric in layered clothing between seasons.
Is it suitable for children’s clothing?
Yes: crafters use it to make clothes for babies and children. Some appreciate the textured yarn because it forgives small mistakes in the pattern.
How many hanks do I need for a jumper?
Check the yarn requirements in the knitting pattern for your size. Compare the thickness and tension in the specifications with the pattern; use 3–3.5 mm circular needles as a guide and choose a different size if the tension does not match.
Make a tension square and wash it to check your tension. If you need a different texture for another project, another BC Garn yarn may suit you.

BC Garn Soft Silk
The shades, the fabric's texture, its beautiful drape, the way you barely feel it on the body, its moisture absorption and excellent breathability.
There can be a smell that put me off when I first knitted with it, but later I even grew to like it :)
It stretches after washing, but this can be avoided by knitting more tightly.
Amazing yarn that makes you want to return to it again and again. A T-shirt made with it is very comfortable in summer: the yarn breathes beautifully and absorbs moisture. At first glance the fabric looks dense, but that is deceptive: it is weightless and drapes beautifully.

I really liked the yarn! It is pleasant to knit with, and I actually like its distinctive 'milky' smell. For anyone who cares, it disappears after 1–2 washes and blocking sessions.
The yarn also stretches after washing and blocking. Mine stretched both widthwise and lengthwise, so sizing is essential.
I've knitted the 'V otpusk' T-shirt twice and think I'll make it again in other colours later)
I like that it isn't very shiny: the yarn is matte, but still soft and delicate.

I liked the yarn for its natural character. The yarn is uneven and forms an irregular fabric, but those natural qualities are just what I wanted.
I knitted a T-shirt tightly on size 3 needles, one size smaller and 4 cm shorter, because I knew it would stretch. After washing and blocking in cool water, I dried it flat and stretched it to my size. It took 250 g for size 48–50. Soft and pleasant against the skin.
Rather expensive, of course, and the smell is distinctive, but that is part of its natural character)
Afterwards, I tried a processed, even silk and realised that Soft Silk was calling me back: I want to make another one, this time with long sleeves. I recommend allowing for its drape and stretch, knitting more tightly on size 3 needles, and leaving the body and sleeves 2–4 cm short of the desired length.

The texture, the colours, the excellent yardage and the transformation after washing and blocking.
A distinctive smell that I later got used to)
What first attracted me to this yarn was its uneven texture (I like that sort of thing). It looks beautiful in stockinette stitch. I didn't like the ribbing in this yarn very much, again because of the yarn's texture. While knitting, the fabric seems dense, but after washing and blocking it becomes fluid and, if I can put it this way, relaxed, floaty and airy, which is good for summer.
I particularly want to mention the gorgeous palette. All the colours are beautiful.
I was also pleased with the yardage. My size 42 T-shirt took 1.5 hanks.

A very soft, pleasant yarn, hypoallergenic.
During washing and blocking, the water became coloured, but overall the shade stayed just as beautiful and rich.
The small triangular scarf took 140 g.
I knitted loosely on 3.5 mm needles.
It turned out to be a lovely, pleasant accessory.
I like the irregularities; they give it a certain rustic quality.

Wonderful yarn, very soft after washing and blocking. I was also pleasantly surprised by how far it went.
The price, and I found three knots in each hank.
I knitted the lovely 'V otpusk' T-shirt with this yarn using the shop's pattern. Wonderful construction, wonderful yarn! It feels so pleasant against the skin that I don't want to take it off! I'm glad I still have a whole month of summer left to wear it out and about!

An interesting yarn for anyone who wants to try something a little different.
Bourette silk is textured and uneven, so the fabric has character: the yarn is thicker in places and thinner in others. Even a basic T-shirt becomes something striking and unusual.
Garments made from this yarn are very comfortable in hot weather and don't leave you cold when it's slightly cool: perfect for a St Petersburg summer of +20 degrees with a light breeze!
The yarn can bleed dye.
I don't recommend it for lace knitting.
I recommend using smaller needles: the fabric stretches after washing and isn't stable.

Yarn economy, the beauty of the finished garment, the large palette and the fibre content.
The bright shades release a lot of dye into the water, so keep that in mind. The blue didn't colour the water, by the way)
A soft yarn, but a real cure for perfectionism)
It makes a textured fabric, but that is the whole charm.
The T-shirt took just under two hanks. It doesn't feel hot to wear! It washes beautifully.

A beautiful yarn that is very pleasant to wear. Its unevenness creates a textured fabric, an excellent choice if you want something out of the ordinary.
One thing to note: the yarn stretches a lot with wear. It depends on the garment, of course, but you must allow for it when starting your project.
Overall, I recommend it, but with caution!

It's silk!!! Nothing but advantages!!!
Some hanks contain a depressing number of knots.
Not the first bourette silk in my knitting life, but definitely my favourite. I want to knit with it again and again. I should mention straight away that I buy subdued, natural shades, so I've never had the 'oh no, look how much it bleeds!!!' problem. It has a characteristic little squeak and a funny smell. I'm not sure everyone will like the smell, but I adore it and keep sniffing myself))) The thickness of the yarn differs between colours, so you can and should play around with needle sizes. My own range is 3 to 4 mm. The yarn is quite uneven and fairly rough, but it is pleasant to knit on both metal and wood.
I adore this yarn!!! You don't want to take off T-shirts and tops made from Soft Silk. So comfortable!
I recommend it wholeheartedly!!!
