Description
Product information "BC Garn Semilla Melange GOTS - 11 Dark blue"
BC Garn Semilla Melange GOTS yarn is a lofty, worsted-spun sheep’s wool yarn in muted shades: cables and stranded colourwork come out clearly defined. It is often used to knit jumpers, cardigans and sleeveless jumpers.
Which season is this wool suitable for?
The warm knitted fabric is suitable for cool weather. After hand washing in cold water, the stitches even out and the fabric becomes softer; dry it flat.
How many balls do you need for a jumper?
The exact amount depends on the size and pattern, so check the number of balls against the pattern. Knitters usually choose 3.5–4 mm circular needles; for a DK pattern, compare the yarn thickness, stitches per 10 cm and needle size with the specifications, and adjust the needle size if they differ.
Is the wool mulesing-free?
The wool comes from farms that do not practise mulesing; the yarn is GOTS-certified. The certification also covers the production stages, including dyeing.
Before knitting, rewind the yarn into a ball, make a tension square and wash it. If you need a finer yarn for your next project, you can choose an option from other BC Garn yarns.

I liked it for stranded colourwork. I knitted Samotsvety.
An excellent woollen-spun yarn, with a slightly dry feel. Not scratchy. The fabric drapes well. After washing and blocking, it develops a pleasant light halo. I was pleasantly surprised by how little yarn it took. A varied palette that made choosing difficult.
It breaks under tension, for example when using a sewn bind-off on ribbing. But that is a subjective point.

Wonderful yarn! Garments made from Semilla Melange turn out light and surprisingly warm. It is perfect for knitting for children: soft and not scratchy.
It does have a tendency to break, so take care when seaming pieces. After washing, it stretches a little, but once completely dry it returns fully to its original dimensions.

Warm, not scratchy, a beautiful yarn with a large colour palette. I feel that garments made from it last forever.
Sometimes breaks under strong tension.
Like many others, I knitted Samotsvety. My sweater is now in its third year, looks wonderful, doesn't change size after washing and doesn't pill.

Very warm, nicely twisted, blooms a little after washing, matte and slightly fluffy.
Doesn't hold ribbing very well)

I knitted my husband a hat with this yarn. It knits up quickly thanks to the 5 mm needles. After washing, the garment's dimensions didn't change and the yarn became softer. And this wool really doesn't itch.

Magnificent yarn, simply perfect for gloves. The feel is exactly my thing: 100% wool that you don't want to put down. I knitted with the dark blue shade. The colour is even prettier than in the photo. My yarn doesn't break, even when closing the fingertips. Fantastic yarn; now I want to buy Bio Shetland. I spent a long time looking for glove yarn and have found my ideal!

I bought this yarn for gloves. At first I thought it was scratchy, like old yarn from my grandmother's stash. Then I washed it. Fantastic! The fibres fluffed up and it became very soft. Warm, too. Thin gloves that are just right for −15 degrees.

I can't comment on a finished garment made from this yarn because the yarn breaks while I'm working with it. Pull just a little harder and that's it. I've worked with regular BC Garn Semilla and never had this happen. I don't know what to do with it now; I've never encountered anything like this before. Markings on the label: F: SM25 P: SB3773.

I ordered this yarn on a whim. An Instagram review showed an amazing red shade, and I decided: these are going to be my red mittens! But my first reaction was disappointment: in real life the colour was burgundy. I was a little upset, but didn't give up. Now I'm knitting the mittens and loving how soft this yarn is! I've even come to really like this burgundy shade! I'm using 2 mm needles with slightly loose tension. After washing and blocking, the stitches evened out and look great!

I fell in love with this yarn from the very first stitch, it is just that good. After washing and blocking, you love it even more because it becomes softer and fluffier. The yield is amazing: 8 hanks for an oversized size 42 sweater, bearing in mind that I crochet... SHOCKED, and absolutely in love!
