Description
Product information "BC Garn Bio Shetland GOTS - 58 Deep blue"
BC Garn Bio Shetland GOTS yarn is a fine, plied organic wool yarn for patterned knitting, with an appearance similar to Shetland yarn. It is most often used for jumpers and cardigans; some knitters praise the lightness of the finished garments.
Does it feel scratchy?
The knitted fabric has a distinctly woolly feel — for those who enjoy this texture. Knitters report that it can become noticeably softer after washing and blocking.
Is it suitable for stranded colourwork?
Yes, it is suitable for multicoloured patterns. We find that, for some knitters, the yarn catches on neighbouring stitches, making it easier to work with: a dropped stitch stays in place.
How many balls do you need for a jumper?
Choose the number of balls based on the yarn requirements in the knitting pattern, checking the length against the product specifications.
Make a tension square on 2.5–4 mm circular needles and gently hand wash it; then compare the tension with the pattern. If you need a different thickness, compare options with other BC Garn yarns.

BC Garn Bio Shetland GOTS
Excellent for stranded colourwork! It blooms beautifully after washing and blocking, giving an even fabric. A varied colour palette. It feels a little dry while knitting, but that did not bother me. I am always pleased with the yardage.
My favourite yarn from this manufacturer so far.

Wonderful yarn ❤ and BC Garn is one of my favourite brands! I knitted a jumper with a little cat design, and another batch of yarn is waiting to become a lopapeysa.

Beautiful yarn. Every stitch falls into place. It glides perfectly over the needles and blooms well after washing and blocking. I have already knitted two jumpers with it, and a third is waiting its turn.
Both jumpers in the photo were knitted with two strands.

Very warm, blooms beautifully
A slightly oily finish, though that is a matter of preference
A wonderful yarn for people who like warm wool. The yarn is soft but dry to the touch, not prickly, yet wonderfully warming. While knitting, the finish makes the stitches lie a little unevenly, but after washing and blocking it is transformed. I knitted stranded-colourwork mittens: the stitches meshed together beautifully and the fabric became very fluffy. If you are not afraid of stranded colourwork on fine needles, this yarn is ideal.

BC Garn Bio Shetland GOTS
I love BC Garn Bio Shetland! The yarn is slightly marled and even, and it is easy and pleasant to knit with. The finished piece looks very stylish. After washing, the fabric became airy and soft, the yarn developed a little halo and the stitches evened out. I knitted a double-layer men's hat with a pompom on 3.0 mm needles. I had two skeins in different colours and had a little less than half of each left over. So about 1 skein should be enough for a single-layer hat! My experience is that the finished piece grows wider with wear. I would therefore recommend casting on fewer stitches than your calculation suggests.

I made a cardigan with this yarn in two attempts. The first project was never finished, and when I tried to unravel it after a year on the shelf, the yarn broke and would not come undone. I bought the yarn again and happily knitted the whole garment from scratch. While knitting, the yarn feels a little stiff, and on 3.5 mm needles the fabric looks rather loose. But washing and blocking change everything: the fabric evens out, the stitches look neater and the garment is no longer loose. It feels as though the piece is made to last for ever; that is the impression this yarn gives me. The yardage is amazing too. I bought 4 balls for a size M cardigan and used 3, including the linked edging. The remaining ball, plus another colour I have bought, will become warm mittens.

I bought it for mittens and knitted with 2 strands; 1 skein was enough. It holds stitch patterns well and became softer after washing.

Very soft, pleasant yarn. To my surprise, I can hardly feel it against my sensitive skin. Washing and blocking work magic: the yarn blooms beautifully. Washing it several times and gently kneading the garment in the suds makes it bloom even more, filling in all the spaces around the floats and evening out the stitches. 2 × 2 ribbing looks prettier than 1 × 1.

BC Garn Bio Shetland GOTS
Very soft, delicate wool. It does not itch at all, even on sensitive skin. Some people may find it slightly prickly because it is woollen-spun: the wool fibres are not long and there are many little fibre ends, so the yarn feels a little rough. But to me that only adds to its charm and makes it completely distinctive and special :)

I ordered the yarn because of the opportunity to knit the Lowliness cardigan. It is so distinctive and beautiful in its own right. It does not yield to you from the very first stitches, but after washing it surprises you 100%: it evens out and develops a special halo. Personally, I do not find it prickly; it feels quite comfortable. Thank you to the shop for the opportunity to make lovely garments with quality yarn!
