myboshi No. 1 Tweed yarn is made of acrylic with merino wool and small coloured flecks: it is used to make winter hats and scarves. The flecks create a tweed pattern in the fabric.
Does it feel scratchy?
It is soft, and we have noticed that crafters appreciate this when wearing it. Some like the loose twist, which gives it a pleasant texture.
Which season is it suitable for?
For cold days: the yarn keeps you warm and lets air through. It is used to make headbands for teenagers to wear when skiing.
How should I wash it, and will it felt?
Machine wash on a gentle cycle: the yarn does not felt and keeps its shape. Do not tumble dry.
Use the number of balls specified in the knitting pattern; leftovers are often used for trims and striped blankets. If your next pattern calls for a different fibre content, compare it with other myboshi yarns. Before starting, make a tension square on 6–7 mm circular needles and wash it to check the tension against the knitting pattern.
