Symfonie Yarns Terra yarn combines wool and polyamide in a plied strand with hand-dyed multicoloured tones. It is chosen for socks and other items that need abrasion resistance.
Is it suitable for socks, and will it be durable?
This is a practical blend for socks: wool gives the knitted fabric springiness, while polyamide helps it withstand abrasion. Wash gently and dry flat.
Will it work with my pattern, and which needles should I use?
That depends on the pattern: check the thickness and tension listed in the specifications against your pattern. You can start with 2.5–3.5 mm circular needles. Knitters choose different sizes; if your tension does not match, change your needle size.
Before starting, wind the yarn into a ball and make a tension square, then wash it and dry it flat to check the tension after washing. If another project calls for yarn intended for a different use, take a look at other Symfonie Yarns yarns.
