Shima is a knitting pattern for striped socks worked from the cuff down – “shima” is the Japanese word for stripes. It has a 2×2 ribbed cuff, a stockinette leg, a reinforced heel flap, a gusset and a wedge toe; written for Magic Loop and suitable even for knitters new to socks. Six sizes covering EU 34–45. You get the pattern as a PDF in English.

The pattern lists Schachenmayr Regia 4-fädig 4-ply, Garnstudio DROPS Fabel, Cascade Yarns ® Heritage®, Kremke Edelweiss Classic 4ply non superwash and Kremke Sole Mate. You can also use another Light Fingering weight yarn as long as you get the gauge (33 sts × 44 rows = 10 × 10 cm (4 × 4 in)).
