Rowan Merino Aria yarn is merino wool with polyamide for fluffy jumpers and cardigans that feel light to wear. Knitters like the lofty, compressible yarn; they use it for cables and lace yokes.
Does it feel scratchy?
Many find it soft. Some people with wool sensitivity have found it suitable; it can be worn next to the skin.
Will it suit my pattern, and what needles do I need?
It depends on your tension: compare the chunky weight, stitch and row tension over 10 cm and needle size in your pattern with the specifications. Start with 7 mm circular needles; if the tension differs, change the needle size.
How should I wash it, and will the garment shrink?
Hand wash in cold water and dry flat in the shade; some have found that their garment kept its size. Do not tumble dry.
Use the yarn quantity given in the knitting pattern; make a tension square and wash it before calculating the size. If you want a different texture, compare it with other Rowan yarns.
