Rowan Baby Cashsoft Merino yarn is a lightweight blend of wool, acrylic and cashmere for soft baby cardigans and bonnets, as well as jumpers with clear stitch definition. Cables show up well in solid-colour knitted fabric — for example, in a baby blanket.
Does it feel scratchy?
It is soft and gentle on the skin; some knitters enjoy holding it in their hands, and many enjoy the knitting process itself.
Will it suit my pattern, and which needles should I use?
You can start with 4 mm circular needles; choose your final needle size to suit your knitting tension. Check the yarn thickness listed in the specifications and the needles against your pattern, and compare your stitches per 10 cm after washing with the knitting pattern; if they do not match, change your needles.
For the Flori baby cardigan, choose the number of balls according to the size in the knitting pattern. Make a tension square and wash it gently by hand. If you need a thicker yarn, consider another Rowan yarn.
