Rowan Alpaca Wool is a soft alpaca and wool yarn for winter jumpers, cardigans and hats in cool pastel shades. Some crafters find that their shawl becomes even softer and more relaxed after blocking.
Does it feel scratchy?
It is very soft; many knitters enjoy working with it. If you have sensitive skin, wear it over a thin layer.
Will it suit my pattern, and which needles should I use?
It depends on the pattern: for a DK design, compare the tension and needle size with the specifications. The recommended needles are 7 mm circular needles; those who have already used it tend to choose 4 mm needles.
Use the number of balls given in the knitting pattern for your size. For a pattern using a different yarn weight, compare other Rowan yarns. Make a tension square and gently hand wash it; if the tension differs from the pattern, change your needles.
