The Novita stitch holder lets you put live stitches on hold and continue knitting another part of your project. For example, you can transfer the centre neckline stitches of a jumper onto it while you knit the shoulders.
When should you use a stitch holder?
Transfer stitches onto the holder if the pattern asks you to leave them on hold temporarily. For example, when working on a neckline, you take the centre stitches off the needle and move on to the shoulders - follow the order given in your pattern.
How do you return to the held stitches?
Transfer the stitches back onto the needle when you reach the relevant stage in the pattern, and continue knitting in pattern. Before the next row, check the stitch count against the pattern to make sure you haven’t missed any.
Check your knitting pattern: if it calls for live stitches to be put on hold temporarily, a stitch holder will come in handy. If you’re gathering tools for the whole project, take a look at other Novita tools too.
