Novita Viola yarn is soft wool blended with polyamide for socks and lightweight scarves with intricate patterns. Cool and neutral shades are ideal if you prefer a muted palette.
Does it make hard-wearing socks?
Yes, the added fibre improves abrasion resistance during wear. This is important for the heel and sole.
Will it suit my pattern and what needles do I need?
Use patterns for fine sock yarn as a guide; start with 2.5–3 mm circular needles. Compare your tension with that given in the knitting pattern; if it differs, choose a different needle size.
How should I wash socks made with it?
Wash on a gentle cycle at 40 °C without bleach. Dry flat, not in a tumble dryer.
For patterns using a different yarn thickness, take a look at other Novita yarns. Choose your pattern and size, then work out the number of balls from the quantity specified in the knitting pattern. Before starting, make a tension square and wash it.
