Consider Novita Sointu yarn if you're planning a top with pleats: it combines viscose with cotton and a small amount of wool. The viscose gives it a silky sheen and a soft drape.
Will it suit my pattern, and which needles should I use?
Start with 4 mm circular needles; whether it suits your pattern depends on your knitting tension. Compare the yarn thickness in the specifications with that given in the pattern, and check your stitches per 10 cm after washing; if your tension does not match the pattern, change needles.
Divide the length needed for your size by the length per ball given in the specifications and round up. Before you begin, make a tension square and wash it gently; dry flat, without using a tumble dryer. If the pattern calls for a different fibre content, compare other Novita yarns.
