The Novita 7 Veljestä Original yarn is a wool and polyamide blend for socks and men's slippers. The wool fibres provide warmth and hold cables and stranded colourwork well.
Will socks made with it be durable?
Yes, the polyamide in the fibre content improves abrasion resistance: the knitted fabric withstands friction better during wear.
How should I wash socks made with it?
Machine wash on a gentle cycle at 40 °C. Dry flat and do not tumble dry.
Will it suit my sock pattern?
It depends on the pattern: check the Worsted weight, tension and needle size in the pattern against the yarn specifications. The general recommendation is 4 mm circular needles; finer needles are needed for sock knitting.
One ball is enough for a pair of men's slippers. If the pattern calls for a finer yarn, compare it with other Novita yarns. Before starting, make a tension square and wash it; if the stitch count does not match the pattern, change your needles.
