Mayflower Premium Sock Wool Valley yarn combines wool with polyamide and soft colour transitions: stripes appear naturally as you knit, and the socks look good with ribbing. It makes self-striping pairs of socks.
Is it durable enough for socks?
The blend improves the knitted fabric’s resistance to abrasion; it is also used to knit colourwork socks.
Which needles should you use?
Knitters most often use 2.5 mm needles. Compare the thickness and tension specified in the pattern with the yarn’s specifications; for a tension square, you can use 3.0 mm circular needles.
