Mayflower Premium Cassandra blends alpaca, silk and wool in a fine Lace-weight yarn. Knitters describe the knitted fabric as airy and soft to the touch; alpaca adds a light halo. It is most often used to make jumpers, cardigans and shawls.
Does it feel scratchy against the skin?
Some find it less scratchy than mohair; some knitters wear the finished garment next to the skin. If you find it more comfortable, wear it over a thin layer.
Which season is this yarn suitable for?
It suits cool weather: alpaca provides plenty of warmth, and knitters describe the finished fabric as light and warm.
