Mayflower Premium Athena yarn is a blend of alpaca, wool, linen and cotton. The alpaca gives the yarn a light halo.
What will the knitted fabric look like?
The knitted fabric has a rustic look, with an unusual interplay of colours. Alpaca drapes softly and stretches less than wool.
Can I use knitting needles, and how do I check the tension?
Start with 4 mm circular needles. Check the yarn thickness and tension in the specifications against your pattern; if the tension differs, change the needle size.
