Description

Product information "Kremke Papyrus - 85 Green-grey"

Kremke Papyrus yarn is a solid-colour ribbon raffia made entirely from paper, for bags and hats. The knot-free strand saves you from making extra joins. We see that many knitters are pleased with the results, while some achieve a light, strong fabric.

Will water damage paper yarn, and how should I clean the finished item?

The yarn is water-resistant; clean the finished item with a damp cloth. Some people steam their work to smooth the surface and give it the desired shape.

Can I use it for a pattern that calls for thinner raffia?

Yes, with adjustments: it is thicker than the raffia used in some patterns, and some people adjust stitch and row counts and hook size to get the right dimensions. Check the thickness listed in the specifications, stitches per 10 cm and the needle or hook against the pattern; for knitting, 3.5 mm circular needles are suitable.

Use the number of balls stated in the knitting pattern; allow a little extra time. Start with a swatch and check your tension; if you are interested in a different texture, compare it with other Kremke yarns.

Kremke Papyrus

The yardage and colour palette

Awkward to work with; harder than ordinary raffia

I made two bags with this yarn, and both are usable, but long handles stretch. Keep that in mind and work more tightly. The palette is lovely, and I think I will use it again)
