DMC Merino 3 yarn is a wool and acrylic blend for jumpers and cardigans with cables or stranded colourwork for the cooler months. The wool’s springiness helps cables keep their definition.
Will it suit my pattern and what needles do I need?
It depends on your tension; start with 3 mm circular needles. Check the length in the specifications against your pattern and compare your tension over 10 cm with the tension stated in the pattern; if they differ, choose different needles.
How should I wash it to prevent shrinkage?
Wash in cold water on a wool cycle: heat and friction can felt the fibres. Do not bleach, iron or tumble dry.
If your pattern calls for a different thickness, compare this yarn with other DMC yarns. To work out how much yarn you need, use the total length given in the knitting pattern, not just the number of balls. Make a tension square and wash it before you start.
