Description
Product information "BC Garn Loch Lomond GOTS - 07 Dark brown"
BC Garn Loch Lomond GOTS is a tweed yarn made from 100% wool with distinct flecks: the lofty yet lightweight knitted fabric is suitable for warm cardigans, men's jumpers and shawls.
Does this wool feel scratchy?
Some find it comfortable next to the skin: the tweed texture does not irritate.
Does it show cables and textured stitches well?
Yes, cables show clearly, and textured stitch patterns stand out well. Knitters choose needles to suit their project and use smaller needles for ribbing. Start with 4–5 mm circular needles; check the thickness, tension and needle size given in the pattern against the specifications.
Which season is this wool suitable for?
The lofty yarn lets you knit a warm garment with a lightweight fabric.
Check the knitting pattern for the number of hanks needed. Before starting, wind the hank into a ball, knit and wash your tension square; hand-wash the finished garment in cold water and dry flat. For a different texture, take a look at other BC Garn yarns.

BC Garn Loch Lomond GOTS
Simply the best) Warm, not scratchy, soft, cotton-wool-like and a little rough (in a nice way). It goes a long way, knits easily and quickly, doesn't split, and generally behaves perfectly)
It pills quite a lot, but its other qualities make that forgivable. The texture rather lends itself to that anyway. It doesn't hold ribbing, but that is to be expected too.
A lovely palette, excellent gauge and yarn economy for this yardage. To my mind, it's a versatile yarn for upper-body garments: cables, stranded colourwork, everything works well, and plain stockinette stitch is beautiful in its own right. I have two favourite yarns for pretty much every occasion: Loch and Semilla. They're always the first ones I look at.

BC Garn Loch Lomond GOTS
This yarn is my personal favourite, especially for winter and autumn. I've only knitted one sweater so far, but I've fallen in love with the texture: a soft yarn with tweed flecks. The garment turned out light but very warm! The yardage goes a long way, especially if you don't knit tightly. I used 4.5 mm needles and think the resulting gauge was excellent. I've already bought yarn for another 2 projects. I'm waiting for autumn so I can enjoy some cosy time, a TV series and a new sweater ❤

BC Garn Loch Lomond GOTS
One of my favourite yarns from BC Garn!
- a pleasant woollen-spun yarn with a tweed effect
- doesn't itch, good for sensitive skin
- doesn't pill
- comfortable to wear: the garment is light yet warm, with a 'dry warmth' effect
It holds stitch patterns beautifully and doesn't change significantly after washing and blocking.
A stunning, rich palette!
I recommend this yarn for upper-body garments, scarves and shawls, perhaps mittens, perhaps stranded-colourwork hats on small needles.
A ribbed hat in this yarn really won't work.
Excellent for stranded colourwork.

BC Garn Loch Lomond GOTS
A tweed that is comfortable to knit with, both in fibre content and thickness, with an absolutely incredible palette.
Often sells out.
The brown with blue flecks is simply to die for! And the yarn is very soft. It became my favourite cabled sweater: very warm, but not too hot.

BC Garn Loch Lomond GOTS
A soft, processed yarn with tweed flecks; it was a pleasure to knit with.
The finished garment is warm and comfortable.
My skin isn't particularly sensitive, so this yarn doesn't feel scratchy to me, even when I'm hot.
I haven't found any drawbacks.
I knitted the Moby dickey. I bought 3 hanks, but had quite a lot left over.

BC Garn Loch Lomond GOTS
I bought it for a sweater for my husband. I planned to knit it in stockinette stitch. It holds ribbing well and looks beautiful in stockinette. A yarn with a masculine character (you couldn't call it kitten-soft), but I wouldn't call it scratchy either. There are bits of straw in the yarn, but they are very easy to remove as you knit. After washing and blocking, the swatch neither shrank nor stretched. The yarn doesn't bloom, although a slight halo appeared.
