BC Garn Brisa is an airy tubular yarn made from cotton, alpaca and wool; the knitted fabric is light and holds its shape as you knit. It is used to knit jumpers, cardigans and shawls.
Does it feel scratchy?
How it feels depends on your skin: the fibre content includes wool, while the alpaca is soft. If you have sensitive skin, wear the finished garment over a thin layer.
Which season is this yarn suitable for?
Cool weather: alpaca is very warm and drapes softly, so the knitted fabric hangs loosely and suits cosy garments.
Will the garment stretch after washing?
It is best to check this with a tension square: alpaca stretches less than wool, but the fit of the finished garment depends on your tension and how you care for it.
Knit and wash your tension square, compare your tension with the pattern and change your needle size if it differs. Start with 4.5–6 mm circular needles, and check the amount of yarn needed against the pattern for your size.
