Amano Warmi Alpaca Wool is a plied yarn made from baby alpaca and merino wool for jumpers and cardigans. We've noticed that some knitters appreciate its plump, springy feel in the hand; the heathered colouring brings stocking stitch to life.
Does it feel scratchy?
Many knitters find it very soft. If you have sensitive skin, wear the finished garment over a thin T-shirt.
Which season is it suited to?
The colder months. Some knitters describe the finished garments as cosy — they don't want to take them off.
Will it suit my pattern, and which needles do I need?
For a pattern using Aran yarn, start with 4 mm circular needles; compare the number of stitches and rows over 10 cm after washing with the pattern. If they don't match, adjust the needle size to suit your tension.
Check your chosen pattern for the number of hanks needed. Wind the yarn into a ball. If you need a different thickness, take a look at other Amano yarns. Make a tension square and wash it.
