Amano Riti Merino yarn is a plied yarn made from pure merino wool for jumpers and cardigans. The wool’s springiness helps cables look raised and well defined; it is also used for lace knitting and multicoloured patterns.
Does it feel scratchy?
Many knitters find it soft and cosy to wear. Some find that the knitted fabric feels even more comfortable against the skin after blocking.
Will it suit my pattern, and which needles should I use?
It depends on your tension: some knitters choose the garment size to suit the way they knit. Compare the Worsted weight, stitches per 10 cm and needles specified in your pattern with the yarn’s specifications; start with 4 mm circular needles and try a different needle size if your tension does not match.
Use the number of hanks specified in the knitting pattern for your size. Before starting, wind the yarn into a ball, make a tension square and wash it. If you would like a different texture, compare it with other Amano yarns.
