Amano Mayu Royal Alpaca with Cashmere and Mulberry Silk is a plied alpaca, cashmere and silk yarn for soft pullovers and snoods. The yarn’s lovely sheen can show clearly in stocking stitch.
Does it feel scratchy?
Many knitters find Mayu very soft; some wear it next to the skin without irritation.
Which season is it suitable for?
For cold weather: shawls and ponchos provide plenty of warmth.
Will it suit my pattern, and which needles should I use?
For DK patterns, 4 mm circular needles are often used. Compare your stitches per 10 cm with the knitting pattern; if they differ, change your needle size.
Use the number of hanks specified in the knitting pattern for your size. Before starting, wind the yarn into a ball, make a tension square and wash it. Hand wash in cold water and dry flat. A little leftover yarn can be used in a mixed-yarn snood together with another Amano yarn.
