Materials

• 2 skeins of Kremke BabyAlpaca yarn
• 3-3.5 mm circular needles, 40 cm long
• Double-pointed needles for closing the crown
• An additional thread of similar density to Kremke BabyAlpaca for provisional cast-on

Gauge

Knit a swatch approximately 15 x 15 cm in size using Kremke BabyAlpaca yarn following the pattern chart. Your goal is to achieve a gauge of 25 stitches per 10 cm or 2.5 stitches per 1 cm of fabric. Determine the needle size needed after knitting, washing, and drying your swatch. The designer used a 3.25 mm needle.

Instructions

Cast on the required number of stitches with an additional thread of a contrasting color on 40 cm circular needles and join to work in the round.

• Head circumference 52-54 cm: 100 stitches
• Head circumference 56-58 cm: 104 stitches
• Head circumference 60 cm: 108 stitches

Take the main yarn and knit the ZERO row following the pattern chart. Place 4 markers on the needles, dividing the knitting into 4 repeats.

Decreases

Follow detailed decrease instructions from row 76 onwards as per the pattern chart until binding off the last stitches at row 91.

Finishing

Wash the finished hat in warm (not hot) water with Hollywool soap without lanolin, gently squeeze out the water into a towel, and dry on a horizontal surface.
