Materials Required
- 3-4 skeins of Kremke Soul Wool Bebe Soft Wash (100% Merino Wool, 140m/50g)
- 40 cm circular needles, 4 mm size or those suitable for the gauge
- Stitch marker
- Waste yarn
Gauge
Gauge: 22-23 stitches in 10 cm after blocking.
Size Selection
- 54-56 size: Width 22 cm, Stitches 100, Height before decreases 28-30 cm
- 58-60 size: Width 24 cm, Stitches 110, Height before decreases 30-32 cm
Solid Color Hat
Cast on 100/110 stitches using the open method or waste yarn. Join in the round, place a marker. Knit to the required height (see table) in stockinette stitch.
Decreases
- Row 1: k3, k2tog repeat from * to * until the end of the row
- Rows 2-4: knit without decreases
- Row 5: k2, k2tog repeat until the end of the row
- Rows 6-8: knit without decreases
- (transition to double-pointed needles or long circular needles for convenience)
- Row 9: k1, k2tog repeat until the end of the row
- Rows 10-12: knit without decreases
- Row 13: k2tog repeat until the end of the row
- Row 14: knit all stitches.
For size 54-56 – 20 stitches remain on the needles. For size 56-58 – 22 stitches remain. Gather the crown with a needle, weave in the end. Undo the waste yarn, pick up stitches on the needles. Knit similarly to the first half of the hat.
Striped Hat
Cast on 100/110 stitches using the open method or waste yarn. Join in the round, place a marker. Knit in stockinette stitch alternating colors as follows:
- Rows 1-6: knit in stockinette with color №1
- Row 7: knit in stockinette with color №2
- Row 8: slip the first stitch purlwise without knitting, then knit all stitches
- Rows 9-12: knit all stitches.
Continue knitting alternating colors 1 and 2 to the required height (see table)
Make decreases while maintaining color transitions:
- Row 1: k3, k2tog repeat from * to * until the end of the row
- Rows 2-4: knit without decreases
- Row 5: k2, k2tog repeat until the end of the row
- Rows 6-8: knit without decreases
- (transition to double-pointed needles or long circular needles for convenience)
- Row 9: k1, k2tog repeat until the end of the row
- Rows 10-12: knit without decreases
- Row 13: k2tog repeat until the end of the row
- Row 14: knit all stitches.

- Row 7: knit in stockinette with color №2
- Row 8: slip the first stitch purlwise without knitting, then knit all stitches
- Rows 9-12: knit all stitches.

Wet Heat Treatment
Wash the hat with a liquid wool detergent containing lanolin. Dry on a flat surface.
