Model Description

Oversized model, with a slit and deep armhole.

Working Order

The body is knitted in the round up to the waist where the deep armhole is formed. Then knitted in turn rows. We form the neckline, then sew up and finish the armhole and neckline edges.

Jauge

The sample is knitted in 1×1 half-fisherman's rib (5 mm needles). Note that it will be quite difficult to count the rows if you are a beginner, use a row counter!

Jauge: 18 sts x 35 rows = 10 x 10 cm

If your gauge doesn't match, change to a larger or smaller needle size! It's essential to match the gauge!

Notes

I. The main pattern is a half-fisherman's rib, knitted as follows:

For circular knitting:

1st row: [knit st., yarn over towards yourself, slip purl st. with yarn at back] repeat [ ] until the end of the row
2nd row: [knit st., yarn over + purl st. knitted together purlwise] repeat [ ] until the end of the row. Alternate 1st and 2nd rows.

For flat knitting:

Right side row: [knit st., purl st. + yarn over knitted together purlwise] repeat [ ] until the end of the row
Wrong side row: [purl st., yarn over towards yourself, slip knit st. unknitted with yarn at back] repeat [ ] until the end of the row

II. Increases are made with right/left slants from a stretched cross stitch.

III. It should be noted that the item will slightly stretch in length due to the pattern. Allow for an extra 2-3 cm when knitting.

IV. Read the description thoroughly before starting the work.

Wet-Heat Treatment

Take Hollywool lanolin soap, make a slightly warm soapy solution and immerse the garment in the water. The garment should be completely soaked. Gently rinse the vest in water and rinse with clean running water. Allow the excess water to drain, do not wring or squeeze, and do not lift by the edges when wet. Gather the garment in your hands, press out, then roll it up in a dry towel. Then carefully lay it out on another dry towel and shape as desired. Leave it to dry completely.
