Matériels
Fil: Filcolana Peruvian Highland Wool 100% wool, 100m/50g – 2 skeins
Aiguilles: 3.5 mm and 4.00 mm (double-pointed or circular needles with an 80-100 cm cable for the magic loop method). You will also need stitch markers, a cable needle, and a tapestry needle.

Instructions
The mittens are knitted from the top down (from cuff to fingers). First, you knit the cuff in ribbing, then the cable pattern and increases for the thumb gusset. Next, the work is divided and the thumb stitches are put on hold with contrast yarn while knitting the palm, first following the pattern and then decreasing for the fingers. Finally, the thumb is knitted in the round with decreases at the tip.
On 3.5 mm needles, cast on 48 stitches + 1 st (to close in the round) with a long-tail cast-on method. Knit the cuff in 1×1 ribbing to a height of 6 cm. Then switch to 4 mm needles and knit one more row.
Continue knitting according to the description, using the chart.
1st row: * 1 knit st (mark it with a marker), knit 23 stitches according to the chart* repeat from * to * once more
2nd – 4th rows: knit as the 1st row.
5th row (increase for the thumb): 1 knit st, pattern repeat, M1R, 1 knit st, M1L, pattern repeat.
6th row: 1 knit st, pattern repeat, 3 knit st, pattern repeat.
7th row: knit as the 6th row.
8th row (+): 1 knit st, pattern repeat, M1R, 3 knit st, M1L, pattern repeat.
9th row: 1 knit st, pattern repeat, 5 knit st, pattern repeat, 1 knit st.
10th row: knit as the 9th row.
11th row (+): 1 knit st, pattern repeat, M1R, 5 knit st, M1L, pattern repeat.
12th row: 1 knit, pattern repeat, 7 knit, pattern repeat
13th row: knit as the 12th row.
14th row (+): 1 knit st, pattern repeat, M1R, 7 knit st, M1L, pattern repeat.
Row 15: Knit 1 stitch knitwise, work report, knit 9 stitches knitwise, work report.
Row 16: Knit as Row 15.
Row 17 (+): Knit 1 stitch knitwise, work report, M1R, knit 9 stitches knitwise, M1L, work report.
Row 18: Knit 1 stitch knitwise, work report, knit 11 stitches knitwise, work report.
Row 19: Knit as Row 18.
Row 20 (+): Knit 1 stitch knitwise, work report, M1R, knit 11 stitches knitwise, M1L, work report.
Row 21: Knit 1 stitch knitwise, work report, knit 13 stitches knitwise, work report.
Row 22: Knit as Row 21.
Row 23: Knit 1 stitch knitwise, work report, transfer 13 stitches onto a contrasting thread, cast on 1 stitch (mark it with a marker), work report.
Continue knitting according to the pattern (without increases) until the work measures 16 cm from the beginning of the report (excluding the cuff). Finish the last round 1 stitch before the marked stitch, at the beginning of the row.
Next, start decreases as follows:
Next row (approximately Row 63): CDD, knit according to the pattern until the marked stitch repeat from * to *.
Repeat this round until there are 8 stitches left on the needles.
Cut the yarn leaving about 20 cm. Thread the yarn end through the stitches and pull tight. Secure the yarn end and weave it in on the wrong side.
Thumb
Transfer 13 stitches from the auxiliary thread to 4 mm needles, pick up 3 stitches above the thumb (the middle stitch is taken from the previously cast-on stitch). A total of 16 stitches.
Knit knitwise in the round until the thumb measures approximately 5 cm from the beginning (cast-on) stitches.
Finish the last round 1 stitch before the marked stitch. Next row: CDD, knit 5 stitches knitwise, CDD, knit 4 stitches knitwise.
Next row:
CDD, knit 3 stitches knitwise,
CDD, knit 2 stitches knitwise.
Next row: CDD, knit 1 stitch knitwise,
CDD, knit 1 stitch knitwise.
Pull tight the remaining stitches with a needle and weave in the end.
The second mitten is knitted identically to the first.
Wet Heat Treatment
Gently wash the mittens in cool water with Hollywool special lanolin soap and dry them on a horizontal surface. To give the mittens a neater appearance and to ensure all stitches lay flat after washing, use Hollywool mitten blockers for drying.
