Materials

• Yarn: 5-6 skeins Kremke Baby Silk Fluffy (consumption may vary depending on length)
• Needles: Circular needles 4.5 mm (for band and cuffs) and 6 mm (for main fabric)
• 6 buttons (20-22 mm diameter)
• Scissors, tapestry needle, tape measure

Sizes

• XS-M: Chest circumference up to 98 cm
• L-XXL: Chest circumference from 98 cm
• Width after wet-blocking: 54-55 cm (XS-M) / 60-62 cm (L-XXL)

Gauge

Half-Fisherman’s Rib pattern gauge before wet-blocking: 16 stitches

After wet-blocking: 12-13 stitches x 23 rows

Pattern Details

The garment is knit from the bottom up to the armholes; then the pieces are worked separately. The fit is oversized with straight, wide lantern sleeves.

The pattern uses the “Half-Fisherman’s Rib”:

• Odd rows: 1×1 rib (1 knit, 1 purl)
• Even rows: knit stitches worked from the loop of the previous row, purl stitches as usual
• Repeat rows 2 and 3 continuously

Cast on 161 (XS-M) / 191 (L-XXL) stitches loosely. Begin with 8 rows in 1×1 rib, then continue in Half-Fisherman’s Rib pattern to desired length (30/35 cm) before dividing for front panels and back.

Follow detailed instructions for shaping front panels, back, shoulders with short rows, sleeves picked up from selvages using the 3:4 method, cuffs in 1×1 rib on 4.5 mm needles with decreases, and button bands with buttonholes placement.

Wet finishing: gently wash in cool water with Hollywool special washing agent without lanolin and dry flat.
